Visit to the super factory: learn about China's intelligent manufacturing capabilities
Upon arrival, the delegation toured the Xiangjie Factory accompanied by executives from BAIC, visiting successively the intelligent exhibition hall, the body shop, the stamping workshop, and the final assembly workshop. This factory, with an accumulated investment of nearly 10 billion yuan and an area of 872,300 square meters, is one of the leading smart vehicle manufacturing bases in China and a strategic bet of the BAIC Group in the field of smart manufacturing.

● Bodywork workshop:
The Xiangjie S9 exceeds 80% in the use of high-strength aluminum and steel or higher, employs aerospace-grade riveting technology, and features more than 2,400 riveting points. The number of robots in the workshop has increased to more than 1,100 units, covering automated operations such as welding, adhesive application, and transportation. The double assembly process allows for the mixed production of 8 models on a single line, doubling the flexibility of traditional lines.
● Stamping workshop:
With a surface area of 24,000 square meters, it has mixed production capabilities for steel and aluminum and is equipped with a fully automated Fagor 630T high-speed cutting and stripping line. The B stamping line uses a 6,700-ton 5-stage Schuler servo press with a key accuracy of ±0.3 millimeters.
● Painting workshop:
With a surface area of 27,000 square meters, it features more than 100 robots and 108 painting processes, with an automation rate of 100%. It uses water-based paint and buffer coating also water-based, with silane pre-treatment technologies and zeolite rotor, achieving zero emissions of heavy metals and volatile organic compounds, and a 100% treatment of waste gases.
● Final assembly workshop:
It has 8 production lines and 7 subassembly modules, with integrated digital management and intelligent monitoring for vehicle assembly. The chassis line uses 130 groups of Atlas visual pair management systems, with real-time monitoring of 254 key fasteners. The assembly follows the «from the inside out» principle and features exclusive SPS logistics carts that ensure traceability «one vehicle, one code.» From the sheet input in the first phase to the line vehicle’s exit, only 38 hours are required, and the customer can receive their order within 4 to 6 weeks.
