On September 20, a delegation from the Junta de Extremadura, led by Guillermo Santamaría Galdón, counselor of Economy, Employment and Digital Transformation, visited China Automotive Engineering Co., Ltd. (AE). Both parties held a meeting focused on deepening cooperation in Europe and Latin America and sharing industrial resources. On behalf of AE, Yao Lepeng, Deputy General Manager, and Geng Yanhui, Director and Chief Engineer, attended the meeting.
01 From the R&D center to the exhibition hall: getting to know AE in the field
The delegation first visited the Zhongbei Automotive Paint Equipment R&D and Manufacturing Center, where they learned about the facilities and technical capabilities of the base. Subsequently, they moved to the company headquarters to visit the exhibition hall and gain a detailed understanding of AE’s history, its main technological achievements, and its global presence.
02 Work meeting: present advantages and connect needs
During the meeting, representatives of the Government of Extremadura presented in detail the industrial investment policies of the region, the reserve of industrial land, the supply of renewable energy and its strategic advantages in terms of location.
Yao Lepeng, Deputy General Director of AE, delivered a speech on behalf of the company and presented AE’s international development strategy and its achievements in overseas projects, demonstrating the company’s comprehensive service capabilities and leadership as an internationalized engineering company.
03 Business connection: exchange in painting, final assembly and welding
During the meeting, the leaders of the paint, final assembly, welding, and construction departments of AE presented their international business, especially the expansion into the European market. Both parties exchanged views on potential opportunities for cooperation and reached important agreements in various areas.
The Government of Extremadura highly valued the visit. The delegation praised AE’s professional capabilities, its approach to international expansion and the results already achieved, and considered that its comprehensive service advantage in painting, final assembly, welding and batteries fits with the needs of industrial modernization in Europe. Both parties hope to strengthen cooperation in Europe and Latin America and share resources.

Its international activity covers markets such as Europe and Latin America, and it boasts EPC capabilities and leadership as an internationalized engineering company.
Extremadura, located in the southwest of Spain, is a key enclave that connects the Iberian Peninsula with the European, Latin American and North African markets. It has a significant industrial and investment potential in sectors such as renewable energy, smart agriculture, biomedicine, aeronautics, and digital transformation. The region boasts Spain’s largest production of renewable energy and the lowest labor costs in the EU, in addition to advantages in industrial land reserves and investment policies.
During this visit, the Extremadura delegation visited AE, from the R&D and manufacturing center to the exhibition hall, and from the business presentation to the working meeting. Both parties reached various agreements regarding cooperation in the European and Latin American markets and synergy in green energy. AE’s comprehensive service capabilities, along with Extremadura’s location as a gateway to the EU and its potential in green energy, constitute a channel of mutually beneficial collaboration. In the next steps, both parties will leverage the results of this exchange to drive the realization of cooperation and consolidate industrial collaboration between China and Spain.
